Heritage Park (the newest addition to our city parks) is located at 14th St. and Walnut St. next to the Raccoon River Valley Trailhead and across from the Roy R. Estle Memorial Library.  This area, once the site of the Hoover Lumber Yard, was designated as city park space and named at the April 9, 2019 City Council meeting.  Click here for a map of our city parks.

This park has an outdoor ice rink and a fire pit and benches.  It is also the center of many of the city’s seasonal events with access to the trailhead restrooms, which are open all year. A covered pavilion with solar panels has recently been added with more updates to this area to be completed at a later date.

During the winter months, the ice rink is open from dawn till dusk and is located in the center of the park. Conditions of the ice are monitored dailya picture of the ice rink and a sign next to the rink lets skaters know if the rink is open or closed.  (If the sign is green, the rink is open!)  With the addition of the ice skate shed and the purchase of ice skates, there is free ice skate rentals when the shed is open. (Please follow "Dallas Center Parks and Recreation" on Facebook for updates on when the shed will be open.)  Other than when the shed is open for free rentals, the rink is not staffed, therefore, you are to skate at your own risk and be courteous of others.

*The rink is available to rent for private parties.  Please fill out the rental agreement found here and return to City Hall in person or via email (cityhall@dallascenter.com) and a staff member will contact you.  For questions call (515)992-3725.

Plans for enhancements are in the works for this infant park and we look forward to watching it grow!
