Because of her optimistic faith in the future and her interest in young people, Lena E. Moser bequeathed $150,000 to the City of Dallas Center for a municial swimming pool which was built on land donated by the Brenton family and dedicated in 1982. It has been a wonderful amenity for our community but due to the age of our pool (the life span of a pool is roughly 30 years), and the fact that certain repairs would require the pool meet todays building standards and ADA compliance, it was determined that a new pool would be more cost effective. Currently an organization named Friends of the Dallas Center Pool are raising money and looking into grants to help with this effort.
