Fairview Drive Sanitary Sewer Extension Project (completed)

Updates:

  • July 14, 2020 - The City Engineer reported the project is complete and grass reseeding will take place in the fall.  He recommended the Council approve Resolution 2020-48 accepting the Fair View Drive Sanitary Sewer Extension Project.  The council approved the resolution and the project is now officially completed!
  • May 21, 2020 - the majority of the work has been completed and only a few punch list items remain.
  • November 12, 2019 - City Engineer reported the project is progressing.
  • September 10, 2019 - City Engineer reported that tunneling under the highway is complete and work is continuing southerly.
  • July 9, 2019 - the bid for this project was awarded to Thorpe Water Development in the amount of $235,964.00

At the November 13, 2018 City Council meeting the Council approved Resolution 2018-46 – authorizing TIF funds to be used for the Fairview Drive Sewer Project.

At the December 11, 2018 City Council meeting the Council approved Resolution 2018-59 - Agreement for design and construction engineering services with Veenstra & Kimm for the Fairview Drive Sanitary Sewer Extension Project with the recommendation of trying to time this project with the Hatton Avenue Storm Extension Project to save mobilization costs.

The plan is to extend the existing sewer line, located just north of Sycamore Street, north along the east side of Fairview Drive to the north side of Sugar Grove.

The steps for beginning the bidding process for this project will be on June 11, 2019 at the regular City Council meeting.  Updates will be posted as the project progresses.
