Pet Licenses Are Required Annually
 

Purpose

For identification if pet is lost and to prevent pets from being destroyed as stray.

Registration

Every dog or cat shall be registered with the City Clerk prior to February 1st of each year.

Application Requirements

Provide proof of current vaccination against rabies, state breed, sex, age, color, name of dog or cat, and if Microchip. Provide Owner's address, telephone numbers and signature of owner.

Registration Fees

$5.00 if the animal is spayed or neutered, $20.00 if they are not. There is a $5.00 late fee on each dog/cat not registered by February 1st.

Impoundment

Animals found at large are subject to a municipal infraction of $100 -1st offense, $200 - 2nd offense, $400- 3rd offense. Registered animals found at large on more than three (3) occasions shall be seized and impounded. If an animal does not have the tag on, it is considered unregistered. Impounding costs are $200.00.
