Sidewalk Replacement Program
Residential and commercial property owners can install or replace their sidewalks and be reimbursed at a rate of $8.00 per running foot for the main sidewalk, and $7.50 per square foot for the handicap accessible portion.
The money is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. To qualify, a property owner must obtain a sidewalk permit and comply with all ordinances and requirements of the City for such work.
Dallas County Housing Trust Fund
The Dallas County Local Housing Trust Fund has a mission "to provide and expand safe and affordable housing to low and moderate income residents of Dallas County".
The fund's Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program assists homeowners within Dallas County with housing repairs and correcting code violations.
Awards are in the form of five-year forgivable loans to eligible households through this trust fund.

Seeking to put God's love into action, Dallas County Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. We work in partnership with generous donors, sponsors and volunteers to preserve homeownership through affordable home repairs and provide affordable homeownership for qualified low-income families. We are a uniquely local philanthropy welcoming all to join us in building a better Dallas County and a better world - one where everyone has a decent place to live!
Tax Abatement
Residential: All qualified real estate assessed as residential property is eligible to receive a one hundred percent (100%) exemption of the first $75,000 of actual value added by the improvements. The exemption is for a period of five (5) years.
The exemption is applicable only to the following developments within the City of Dallas Center, Iowa:
Area A – Cross Country Estates Plat No. 1
Area B – Country Living Estates (except Lots 1, 2, and 3)
Area C – The Neighborhood of Dallas Center
Area D – Cross Country Estates Plat No. 2
Area E – Sugar Grove Acres
Area F – Trail View Pointe
Area G – Lyn Crest Estates Plat No. 2 – 5
Area H – Lots 69, 70, and 71 of Meadow View Acres
