FREE TREES FOR ARBOR DAY - First come, first serve in the parking lot next to the Gazebo in Mound Park on Saturday, April 25h from 9:00 am to 11:00 am (drive – through format)
· The City of Dallas Center is partnering with the Brenton Arboretum to celebrate Arbor Day by providing free trees and shrub seedlings.
· This event is open to all Dallas Center Area Residents.
· Give away trees and shrubs include: Common Hackberry, Kentucky Coffeetree, Sugar Maple, White Oak, Bur Oak, Eastern Redbud, Arrowwood Viburnum, Norway Spruce, Bald Cypress. The seedlings are small, so they are easy to plant.
· Quantities will be limited to 3 trees per address until 10:30 am. From 10:30 – 11:00 am all remaining stock will be available with no quantity limit.
The City of Dallas Center is seeking a resident to join the volunteer Tree Board, helping guide decisions on tree care, planting, and community beautification projects. If you value green spaces and want to make a lasting impact, contact City Hall to get involved.
**Effective April 16, 2026, per Ordinance 600, the collection and disposal of solid waste for residential premises will be increased to $23.00 per month. Commercial premises will be increased to $33.37 for a 96-gallon cart.
**Effective May 16, 2026, per Ordinance 590, the sewer rate for service will be $11.15 per 1000 gallons, but not less than $33.46 per month.

City Wide Garage Sales May 8th & 9th – to be added to the map please email mdeaver8@gmail.com by April 24th, please provide date, time, and type of items you are selling.
Big Garbage Day Saturday May 16th. – This is for household items that are to large to fit in your garbage. If you have any questions, please reach out to City Hall. Hazardous waste, such as paint, etc. will not be taken.
FARMER’S MARKET - will begin June 3th and will be held at the Heritage Park every Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 pm through August. We are still looking for vendors, so if anyone is interested, please email dcfarmersmarket24@gmail.com.
YARD WASTE pick-up will be every Monday (Monday Holidays are delayed one day) from April through November. Grass, leaves, twigs, etc. can be placed in brown paper bags, paper grocery bags, cardboard boxes, or trash cans. Do not use your Waste Management container or black plastic bags. Bundle sticks and branches in no more than four-foot lengths and less than 50 lbs.
