COMMUNITY REMINDERS – April 6th
OPENING BURNING is March 15th – May 10th from 8:00am-8:00pm, all fires must be out by 8:00 pm. Please burn only when the wind is calm, don’t burn wet debris and pay attention to burn warnings from the county. Burn only yard waste, no household trash. ABSOLUTELY NO BURNING ON THE CITY STREETS OR SIDEWALKS.
Yard Waste Pickup began March 30th – please make sure you are disposing properly in the correct container/bags.
DALLAS CENTER POOL IS HIRING!! Time to think about being a lifeguard at the swimming pool. We’re hiring at the Dallas Center Community Pool for the 2026 season! We are hiring for the following swimming pool positions:
- Seasonal Lifeguards* starting at $15 – must be 15 years of age. Click here for the job description.
- *American Red Cross certified for Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR required https://www.redcross.org/take-a-class/lifeguarding
**Effective April 16, 2026, per Ordinance 600, the collection and disposal of solid waste for residential premises will be increased to $23.00 per month. Commercial premises will be increased to $33.37 for a 96-gallon cart.
**Effective May 16, 2026, per Ordinance 590, the sewer rate for service will be $11.15 per 1000 gallons, but not less than $33.46 per month.
The City of Dallas Center is seeking a resident to join the volunteer Tree Board, helping guide decisions on tree care, planting, and community beautification projects. If you value green spaces and want to make a lasting impact, contact City Hall to get involved.

WALNUT STREETSCAPE Clean-Up – Help clean up Walnut Street Greenscape on Saturday, April 18th at 9:00 am. Please bring your own garden tools, rakes, clippers, and work gloves. There will be a yard waste dumpster provided.
FREE TREES FOR ARBOR DAY - First come, first serve in the parking lot next to the Gazebo in Mound Park on Saturday, April 25h from 9:00 am to 11:00 am (drive – through format) See the April Newsletter for more information.
