Dallas Center parks are open from 7:00am until 11:00pm
Mound Park is situated in the west part of Dallas Center, between Walnut Street and Sycamore Street, with the main entrance located off Percival Ave.
Designated as a park on the original town plat and used as sleeping quarters for the workers who built Dallas Center's first paved streets, this beautiful park has hosted decades of community and family events, providing shaded recreation for old and young alike.
Complemented by meticulously maintained trees and lawn, the park boasts a merry-go-round, slides, swings and other playground fun, a gazebo, tennis/pickleball court, roller skating rink, a sand volleyball court, basketball court, picnic shelters and grills, benches, drinking fountains, and restrooms.
During the summer, the skate rink and concession stand are open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 7:00pm until 9:00pm for "Skate Night". There is no cost for skating and roller skate and inline skate rentals are free. "Skate Nights" are for families and kids of all ages with planned themes on Friday's and fun activities and games for both nights. The rink is also available to rent for private parties. Please fill out the rental agreement found here and return to City Hall in person or via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) and a staff member will contact you. For questions call (515) 992-3725.
