Ice Skating Rink

Heritage Park is in the center of town at 14th and Walnut Street across from the Roy R. Estle Memorial Library. ** In the winter, the ice rink is open from dawn till dusk. The ice is monitored daily and a sign next to the rink lets skaters know if it’s open or closed.  The Ice Shed is open on scheduled dates dependent on weather and ice solidity.  Free Skating & ice skates available for use at no charge.  When the rink is not staffed, you are to skate at your own risk. The Raccoon River Valley Trail has heated restrooms that are open all year.

**December 5, 2023 Update **Based upon the long-term National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) prediction of a strong El Niño this winter and the history of its strong correlation with above average temperatures for this area of Iowa, the Dallas Center Parks and Recreation Board voted to recommend that the ice rink NOT BE INSTALLED OR OPENED this winter.

The rink is also available to rent for private parties. Click here for the Ice Skating Rink Rental Agreement.  Please call City Hall at (515) 992-3725 for any additional questions you may have.
